PASSING THE TEST TO ENTER A NEW DIMENSION

Preaching: Wednesday April 11, 2007. Pastor Fernando Martinez

4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin;
5 and you have forgotten the exhortation that as sons directs you, saying,
My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou
rebuked by Him;
6 For the Lord loves He disciplines,
And scourges every son whom He receives.
7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as sons: for what son is he whom the father does not discipline?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.
9 Moreover, we have had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Why not much rather be the Father of spirits and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but for our purposes it is helpful to share in His holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
(Hebrews 12:4-11)

12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he has stood the test, receive the crown of life that God has promised those who love Him.
13 When tempted, do not say he is tempted of God: for God can not be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
14 but each one is tempted when, by his own lust and is attracted seduced.
(James 1: 12-14)

God's discipline is not punishment, powerful rebuke and exhortation is always teaching us something.

The temptation to commit sin is not from God, comes from the devil, sin offends God and grieves the Holy Spirit who dwells in children of God. TEST COMES FROM GOD

1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil
(Matthew 4:1)

8 He who commits sin is the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God, to destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God practices sin, because God's seed remains in him, and he can not sin, because he is born of God
(1 John 3: 8-9)

Job, that man was blameless and upright, fearing God and eschewed evil. He was immensely rich and all that he had come from God:

-------------- -
6 One day they came to appear before the LORD the children of God, including Satan came also.
7 And the Lord said to Satan, "Where are you from? Satan answered the Lord, "From roaming the earth and walk on it.
8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is no one like him on earth, a blameless and upright, fearing God and shuns evil?
9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nothing?
10 Hast not hedge about him and his household and everything he has? The work of his hands Thou hast blessed, so his possessions have increased in the land.
11 But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse thee to thy face. 12 The LORD said to Satan: Behold, all you have in your hand, only do not lay your hand on him. So Satan went forth from the Lord

(Job 1: 6-12)

In this passage, it is Satan who tempts God, the devil stands in front of man's temptations because God permits. In this case it is God who allows Satan to take possession of what was Job. Arrival

proof of God, Job curses the day he was born and laments his situation, however, not against God shouted as Satan wanted. Job

justified before God and calling for their misfortune, Job had a superficial knowledge of God, and Jehovah Job convinces his ignorance and give demonstrations of their power, asking questions that were impossible to answer because they had discerned in the spirit and wisdom of God. (Job 38, 39, 40 and 41). Job

not understand it was a test from God, because human beings can not understand for yourself the purposes and desires of God.

EXTEND THE NEGATIVE ATTITUDE TEST Why then God led the people of Israel for forty years in the wilderness, if you had been able in a few months into the promised land?

The people of Israel, despite having seen the glory of God and all that had happened with the Egyptians, were wicked and murmured against God, they wanted to stone the servant of God and longs to return to slavery in Egypt where God brought them out with a mighty hand.

The forty-two days the people of Israel in the wilderness teaches us that God's processes are slow, that God does not go to fast and duration of the test depends on the attitude that we take against the processes of God our lives.

"OUR ATTITUDE TO THE TEST BE humility and joy"

So, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, abounding in the work of the Lord ever, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain
(1 Corinthians 15:58)

12 Not that I had already attained, either were already perfect, but I press on, if I apprehend that for which I also grabbed by Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have already reached, but one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 3: 12-14)

Being seized is being grasped, because God works through time ... the word says:

Here I do new thing, now it springs forth, do you not know? I will make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert
(Isaiah 43: 19)

GOD HAS A PURPOSE, A PLACE AND A TIME to bless you!
